Divisional Coordination

The Administrative Division is essential to the operations of Public Works. This division provides leadership for the Department and coordinates all processes.

All Human Resource issues for the department are coordinated through Administration to include all hiring, payroll, etc. A multitude of calls come through the Public Works switchboard from residents, tourists and other City departments, which include emergency and non-emergency calls. The requests for service are logged into a service request program that dispatches various crews, i.e. Water, Sewer, Traffic, Storm water, Engineering or Streets to address the issue. The majority of calls are water leaks, a need for the water to be turned off or on, sewer backing up, or a storm drain clogged, etc. and these are just a few of the calls that we get throughout the day. Service requests can also be addressed through our online portal by clicking the link below and logging your concern without having to call in.

Administrative staff is also tasked with processing all Public Works purchases, ordering supplies, addressing building maintenance issues for the department, arranging for travel, coordinating the department’s annual budget, coordinating payroll for the department, processing FMLA/LOA paperwork, coordinating the hiring needs as well as maintaining personnel files and processing employee documents.
