Water

The Water division provide service to areas east of the Intracoastal Waterway, from the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base on the south end to Ocean Creek on the north end.  The division install and maintain water lines, above ground water storage tanks.

 

Hydrant Maintenance Crew

Our team members maintain over 2,700 fire hydrants, making sure the hydrants operate properly and have a protective paint coating free of rust.   We take pride in our hydrants. Hydrants are one of our most visible and important assets.

The Leak Crew

Installs all new water meters and repairs all none meter water leaks. The crew consists of a Supervisor and five highly skilled, hardworking team members. This team responds to after hour emergencies and works diligently to restore water service to our customers no matter the obstacles and challenges.

Water system Maintenance crew

The water system maintenance crew oversees the backflow program, exercises water valves, flushes water lines, and maintains fire hydrants and water tanks. The crew monitors system pressures and collects analytical data. The crew routinely assist wherever they are needed most be it reading meters or leak repairs. This crew has some of our most talented and well-rounded team members.

Our three-meter readers read over 20,000 water meters every month. Meters are read in all weather conditions from freezing to well over 100 degrees the meters must be read. Our readers are dedicated to completing their task every day.

Meter Repair crew

The meter repair crew works closely with our billing department to make sure all water meters are functioning properly. The crew repairs all meters leaks. Removes and reinstalls meters at water billings request. The meter repair crew also performs meter terminations for non-payment. The crew works closely with our customers to provide superior customer service and checks meters that are flagged for low or no consumption.

Meter Readers
